迎戰小牛隊賽前，溜馬教頭Frank Vogel告誡子弟兵：明星賽休兵期還沒開始，還有工作得做。「我們要帶著3場半優勢，進入下半季。」

Vogel教頭的目標沒有達成，溜馬在主場以73比81敗給小牛。這是溜馬本季在主場的第三敗，小牛則拿下最近7戰裡的第6勝。

從比數就看得出來，這一戰對兩隊而言，都有點慘烈。小牛本季平均得分104.3，排名聯盟第7，這一戰是他們本季得分第二少的比賽，今年1月5日，他們只得80分，敗給尼克隊。

溜馬此役團隊投84中27、命中率0.321，本季最慘。全隊得分最多的George Hill，不過進帳14分，主力Paul George投17中4、得12分。

「他們在我們的地盤，修理我們，」Hill說，「他們今晚打得不差，我們則沒那麼好，不幸地，我們輸了這場比賽，但敗仗已經結束。」

小牛只有三人得分兩位數，但第一名Monta Ellis攻下23分，第二名Dirk Nowitzki也有18分，另一人則是板凳Vince Carter貢獻11分。
